Overview

This virtual tour will take you through the streets of Rye in pictures. all of the picture shown have been taken on the first of January over a period of about 9 Years. In some cases comparative photographs have been provided.

Let the Journey Begin - Entrance To Rye

We will start our journey from the Town boundary at the Sign on the A259 and we will continue up "New Road" until we reach the Monk-Bretton Bridge.

Monk-Bretton Bridge/River Rother/Fish Market

This bridge crosses the River Rother and to your right is the Railway Bridge and to your left is the Fish Market complete with the fishing fleet at anchor.

Salts/Land Gate/Hilders Cliff/High Street

We next go past the Salts over the road up the slope to the Land Gate we then about turn and walk up Hilders Cliff to the look out and then proceed along the High Street. There has recently been a book published about the High Street focusing on a now and then aspect this can be bought in Adams.
